This year we are offering wonderful traditional Free Range Turkeys - we have Bronze, a few Norfolk Black and a traditional White Turkey. All the birds came from the same hatchery we have used for the past couple of years - Kelly's. The birds have been reared near us in Wincanton and our fully free ranging - they have shelter for safety at night and protection from the elements if needed !. They are fed a corn diet (non GM) that doesn't contain any medication.
The birds will be killed on farm and hung for 10 days to improve the texture, taste and flavour.
Bronze & Norfolk Black Turkeys.
The two most highly regarded breeds of turkey are the Norfolk Black and the Bronze. Norfolk Blacks are generally not as plump as the Bronzes but tend to be stronger in flavour, almost gamey, with a higher fat content. The feedback we have received over the past couple of years is that these birds really do taste different. DELIVERY DATES - The birds will be delivered on either Tuesday 22nd or Wednesday 23rd December. They will also be available for collection on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd December at our new butchery at The Royal Bath & West Showgorund.
